This could be one of the best meals I have had in a long time. I had the Paccheri Palermo and it was absolutely amazing. The pasta cooked perfectly al dente, the sausage was incredible and the olives and capers made thjs just heaven on a plate. My wife had the Papardelle Pistachio and I tasted it and it was good. She raved about it so Ill take her word for it. The cocktails were amazing, I had this pistachio cream drink with vanilla vodka and it was amazing. My wife also raved about her drink, all in all a very nice cocktail menu was an added bonus. My only disappointment was they were out of arancini, which cannot be more Sicilian, and I really wanted one but we visit SD often and this place is for sure a go to in the future, next time we will call to be sure they have them. The service from Mila was excellent and attentive, the only thing that could be done to improve is a bit more light, it was quite dimly lit.

Looking to switch up the cuisine from the standard Mexican food options in Old Town? Trattoria Don Pietro will hit the mark! It's a Sicilian restaurant with a Miami vibe inside. The food was on point and the service was top notch! We mentioned to our server that we were having a parents night out and he made it extra special by surprising us with a celebratory dessert after our meal What we ordered: Old Fashion Fried Burrata 12/10 (an absolute MUST!) "Sea" Daily Special - Grilled Swordfish with mashed potatoes and grilled zucchini 10/10 Daily Pasta Special - a take on a Cacio e Pepe 8/10 Cheesecake 8/10

I am so surprised that I haven't reviewed Trattoria Don Pietro yet! I LOVE THIS RESTAURANT. The first time I went was back in February 2022 because I told my friends about it, and I've been at least four more times since then. I've only eaten here with special people (my best friend group, one of my closest friends, and my boyfriend), so this place holds a special place in my heart. The flower walls are adorable, the "F*ck that's good!" signage is silly, and it's a lovely restaurant to dine at. Italian food is top three for me, and this is one of my favorite Italian restaurants. I have not had one bad thing here. Memorable appetizers: calamari, shrimp fuoco, and garlic bread service. They used to have meatballs as an appetizer, but I no longer see them. Their "Spaghetti Bolognese" is my favorite. Bolognese is just my favorite red sauce pasta overall (and carbonara for white sauce). Their meatballs are some of the best -- not dry at all, very flavorful and juicy. The first time I got the bolognese with tagliatelle and that was also *chef's kiss*. You can't go wrong with the "Fettuccine din Pietro" or "Linguine Pescatore" if you're craving something on the seafood side. The most recent time I went was in October when my boyfriend took me for my birthday. He ordered the "Chicken Parmigiano," which he thoroughly enjoyed, and the chicken was so good! Lastly, their tiramisu is a treat. One of the best. Some days it is served with strawberries and whipped cream, other days it's served with just the powdered sugar and chocolate sauce. Either way, I'm in love. The "Mi Corazon" is my favorite cocktail. Though I am an espresso martini lover, I have not tried theirs, and I definitely have to make my way back to do so. The first time I went here with my best friend group, we got one of each shot and all of them were elite (and dangerous). The "buzz button" for the "Pop Star" shot is interesting and unique! You chew on it (and you can eat it) and it numbs your mouth in a way, so when you take the shot the pop rocks tingle a little extra. It's a fun little interactive experience. The workers are always so nice too! I'm a little disappointed because when my boyfriend made my birthday reservation, he noted that is was my birthday on OpenTable, but the staff did not acknowledge it and we didn't say anything because he assumed they'd do something (then the bill came so it was too late). Despite little things like that, overall I love Trattoria Don Pietro and I always look forward to dining here.

Loved Don Pietro's, great spot in Old Town, and I believe the only Italian food in the area. The garlic bread is a must! The pizza, I absolutely loved! They also have a sushi speakeasy somewhere in there. This place has great vibes, check it out!

Staying in old town for a few days we had plenty of food choices, the few Mexican restaurants we went to were very disappointing so we decided to try Italian. So happy we came here. The food was amazing. The inside is pretty fancy but really cool at the same time. Our server was very nice and super attentive. We ordered the Brussel sprouts and the cheesy crocrettes. Brussel sprouts were very good, the croquettes were ok, not something I would order again, not that it was bad it just wasn't for me. Dinner was the Hollywood Pizza. This pizza was amazing. Homemade crust that was thick but airy and slightly crisp. It was loaded with toppings and very filling. It's big enough to share and have leftovers. Definitely give this place a try!

This place was absolutely delicious! I had been eager to try it, and I finally had the chance to go with a girlfriend for my birthday celebration. Our waitress, Manuela, was fantastic--welcoming, friendly, and thorough in explaining the menu. As soon as we sat down, she took our drink orders. After a few minutes of browsing, she returned to discuss our options. We trusted her recommendations and ordered the cheesy croquettes, which were divine--crispy fried potato balls filled with creamy mashed potatoes and sitting upon an amazing cheesy sauce. Next, we tried the Hollywood pizza and the pistachio carbonara. The Hollywood pizza was packed with flavor--mushrooms, rosemary, pecorino, ricotta cheese, and a drizzle of truffle honey that brought everything together. The pistachio carbonara was truly the best pasta I've ever tasted, perfectly balanced in flavor. When my friend mentioned we were celebrating a birthday, Manuela encouraged us to pick a dessert. We chose the tiramisu, which she brought out with a cute, sparking candle. She even sang Happy Birthday to me, which was such a sweet surprise, and she took the dessert off our bill, which was a nice touch. Thank you, Manuela, for making our experience unforgettable. We'll definitely be back soon!

I went here for my birthday party and they were super helpful setting up my reservation and making sure everything was perfect. I made the reservation about 3 weeks in advance for 15-20 people and they were very accommodating and flexible. They set up tables in a covered patio area and the setup was wonderful! It's a very cute Italian restaurant in Old Town. Friends trickled in for the first 30 minutes and they were very patient with that and took everyone's food and drink orders. I ordered the arancini and it was nothing special. The chicken parm was a disappointment. It came with maybe 2 bites of pasta which I thought was odd. The chicken was covered in cheese, but it was overdone. I love cheese and I love to coat everything in cheese, but this cheese was low quality and was oily. I appreciated that it was such a big piece of chicken, but it was underwhelming and not very good. Our server took some time to come back to check up on us, but I didn't think much of it because we were a larger group and busy talking and catching up. The hostess was so sweet and graciously took our photos after multiple separate requests from different friends. They allowed my friend to bring a cake to the restaurant and they lit the sparklers. I would recommend coming here for a larger get together as they are very accommodating. It was hard to find a space that accepted 15-20 people without a fee. I would recommend coming for a drink or maybe an appetizer. Street parking can be rough.
